While it is unknown where Scottish Highlanders originated, the debate is between Scotland and Scandinavia. Their long hair is called “Dossan”.

Highland cows can be seen with colors including red, ginger, black, dun, yellow, white, grey, tan, silver, and brindle with the most common color being dun (brown) and black.
